Star Trails

Post by The White Isaac on Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:25 pm

this shit takes a lot of time and patience, but if you get it right, it can make for a remarkable photograph. did i get it right? eh...almost. first, i just did this in the backyard, so I don't have a compelling subject other than trees to put in the picture with the stars. so, it's just stars and some tree branches. 2nd, i'm still testing this crap out. i manually exposed the camera for 50 minutes. I didn't want to wait to see if I had the settings wrong. Most star trails run for hours, so when I find a compelling stationary subject, i'll set up shop and wait it out. but for now, this is what I got. it's a tad bit noisy, but I think I know why and will adjust accordingly next time.
