hard drive failure!

so my piece of shit maxtor hard drive died last night
it was only 3 years old and 1/2 full
had all of my samples/ BFD and Guru Data folders (that means all of my drums) / recent project files (last backup was in May) / and all the install files for my audio software
I am going to have the data recovered because I know a super geek that will hook me up for super cheap
in a way, I feel liberated because I love starting over...
but let this serve as a reminder for everyone to back your shit up!!!

i'm thinking about streamlining my sample/vst folder. its gonna be a pain in the ass but way easier than going though like every fuckin kick drum when i'm trying to get the right one every time.

so I picked the drive up to unplug it and take to the guy who was going to recover the data and it was spinning again!!!
I started to transfer the entire drive before I left for work and if it works, I'll be ok
I will upload some of my best samples folders as a massive thank you this weekend
