Why Ableton keeps writing plugs instead of upgrading the actual DAW workflow is beyond me. NI and MOTU and about a thousand other companies have already written better samplers. Stop reinventing the wheel already Ableton.

I love the DAW workflow though... no reason to change that IMO... maybe make it so you can split the view between two screens and see more than one clip at a time in session view, but those arent necessary changes to me.

Well a less Eastern-Bloc GUI would be a good place to start.

What, you mean how it "drives on the wrong side of the road" so to speak? I like that... maybe the option to change the colors...

when I first got ableton, I sat scratching my head for a couple of days trying to make heads/tails of the workstation layout. then a little light went off in my head, and now it's the easiest thing in the world for me to deal with.

^ same for me... I was using Reason pretty much exclusively when I got Live 3 and since I didnt find it as easy the first time I used it, I let it sit... got an update for 4, took a tutorial and saw how it all makes way more sense than other progs, and didnt look back...

drum rack kills shit. etc is tryin to get me on battery.

ableton 8 is just about the same as 7.

and having to buy all the instruments individually is extremely fucked.

glad to see this got some talk going about ableton
Im still pretty wet behind the ears to production in general but for sure with this program

so I increased the latency on the sound card as well and that seems to be doing the trick so far

thanks Alan!
