get thier shit together? our team has more want and heart than any other team. we are missing crucial elements to our team and we have still beat the best in the game. finally, we are getting tired. thats it.

Re: Hoops Thread

Post by steve on Mon Mar 08, 2010 11:44 am

there are 20 games left. they need to win 15 at least to make the playoffs. portland is in the eight spot and the rockets are 4.5 games behind them and they need portland to dump half their games to weasle by.

what's bullshit is if they were in the east they would be the 8 seed with their record but also if they were in the east they would also have an easier schedule and probably would have won more games.

Re: Hoops Thread

Post by steve on Fri Mar 26, 2010 11:22 pm

yeah i was watchin that game and the ncaa games. the lakers got fucking rolled. let's look at the box score.

LA Lakers 15 19 13 28 75 Final

Oklahoma City 27 26 27 11 91

okc is the fucking playoff stinker this year. in a seven game series they can beat anyone. they are an acquisition away from being a championship caliber team and they are so young that they have the ability roll with it for years.

University of Oregon is where Rick Adelman might coach next year; Yao Ming doubts

By Chris Baldwin
April 15th, 2010 at 10:19 AM

All of the Houston Rockets' hopes for the future center on the idea that Yao Ming will return as a healthy All-Star. Rockets coach Rick Adelman might not be so sure of that though.

The Sacramento Press is reporting that Adelman has emerged as a leading candidate for the University of Oregon's coaching job. Oregon is determined (and somewhat desperate) to hire a big name and its using all of its Nike money to try and do that. Nike chairman Phil Knight is a Duck alum (he donated $100 million to the school in 2009 alone) and he's already used his immense wallet power to offer Michigan State coach Tom Izzo the largest coaching contract in college basketball history. (Izzo has turned it down so far.)

Now, with Adelman on Knight's radar, there is little chance that the Rockets could better Oregon's offer if Knight goes all in.

Adelman leaving for a college job would reverberate beyond mere financial realities though. It would send out an unmistakable message that the Rockets coach has his doubts about Yao being able to return from his latest devastating injury. With a healthy Yao (always the ultimate IF in basketball), many NBA observers expect the Rockets to be a challenger to the elite teams in the league next season.

The inside-outside combination of Yao and Kevin Martin (who the Rockets acquired in a trade this season) brings particular optimism.

But now the coach who guided a Yao-less team to a surprising winning record this season is flirting with Ducks.

cousins will be top 2, no chance we can get him.

playoffs next year. even with a 50% yao.

we have a squad, and morey will pull some b ball wizardry to get us into contention.

and steve, who's your team, do you even HAVE one? Razz

it's possible, you didn't make the playoffs so you guys are lottery bound. the percentages favor against you getting one or two but you will still get a good pick and you will still be able to trade up. HOUSTON NEEDS A BIG MAN AND YAO ISN'T GOING TO BE RELIABLE FOR 82 GAMES A YEAR.
