and only for a couple of those games he scored under thirty. for having chicken arms and legs and no strength the man is awesome. he is only twenty and just think at where he will be playing at in the peak years of 29 - 32.

Re: Hoops Thread

Post by steve on Fri Feb 12, 2010 11:23 am

it took kobe a few years too and he didn't start regularly until his third season. really if you look at were they stand durant is way ahead of kobe as far as progression of his game goes and if you look at what kobe had to work with and what kd had to work with i think durant is fathoms better than kobe was in his third season. if the 99 lakers had lost kobe they would have still made the playoffs. if the thunder lost kd they probably would only win a few more games and dump the rest.

a week ago the thunder played the cavs and it came down to a last second shot, kd vs lebron. anyway lebron got the finger tip block and that was the game. if you give it two years kd will be hitting the wild layup instead of being blocked. the guy is definitely a supernova in my book and he might end up being one of the all time greats. especially if they can keep that team together in okc. the thunder are two acquisitions away from being a contender and they have the financial room to bring in a marquee player.

Re: Hoops Thread

antawn jamison ---> cavs
al thornton ----> wiz
ilgauskas ----> wiz
sebastian telfair ----> cavs
drew gooden ----> clippers
cavs 1st round pick ----> wiz

brilliant move for the cavs. not sure why clips swapped thornton and telfair for gooden, probably a cap move.

now evil david stern will be salivating at his potential wet dream come true of a KOBE V. LEBRON finals.

now all the cavs have to do is BENCH SHAQ. no more than 15 mins a game for ol deisel.

ALSO: mike brown will be fired if he fucks this season up. no doubt.

i cant help but think we fucked up....

rockets trade McGrady, LANDRY, and Dorsey

for Kevin Martin and some bullshit players....

I don't like that at all but as i read more details, it helps us in the long run...

Bullshit. I havn't really seen enough of Kevin Martin to see if he is streaky or actually a good first option....

Re: Hoops Thread

Post by ______BUOY_______ on Thu Feb 18, 2010 1:22 pm

well if you think about it we would have had to resign landry next year and
at first, i was like "FUCK NO"... but this trade is growing on me.

i fucking love carl landry. let's get that out of the way.

just think about it this way:

we already have a ton of money tied up next year, and this way we get 3 more years of kevin martin, rather than having to pay big $ for landry to keep him. also this frees up a little more room to resign scola & lowry AND a possible midlevel player next year.

this is the best perimeter player we could have gotten this year. period. don't fool yourself into thinking we could land any free agent this summer.

and now we get jordan hill (unproven talent) and potentially 2 first rounders.

once new york got involved this trade started to make sense to me. now we have the scoring 2 we needed, and while its not joe johnson, if you look at his stats they're comparable to johnson, and at about 1/2 the cost.

we also get some cap room and swap next years 1st rounder (probably a good # pick) and get a 2011 1st rounder.

daryl morey knows whats up.

i hated the rafer alston trade last year but see how that's worked out...

i still trust daryl.
